World of Wonders Project
We have had to change the direction of travel for the World of Wonders Project. Our plans to continue from Australia to Southeast Asia were thwarted by bureaucratic red tape. While making plans for travel through Singapore and Malaysia we were notified that in order for us to drive through these countries we would have to post a cash bond of over $50,000us. We concluded that the best way to continue the Around-The-World Expedition would be to return to the Americas and then head east through North Africa and Europe. Our transportation sponsor Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines took care of our Fuso and shipped it back to Panama.
During this phase of the WOW Project we drove over 6700 miles (nearly 11,000km) northward from the Panama Canal through Central America and Mexico, having the unique opportunity to explore areas of this region that we were unable to explore when we traveled southbound in 2004 and 2005. For access to the country information on Central America please follow this link. Thank you for joining us.
Our Journal entries for this portion of the World of Wonders Project are available in Adobe PDF format. Adobe Reader is widely available for free on the Internet, if you do not already have it installed please do so now. Thank you.
